Section Overview

During the training, students will learn to interpret and comply with the legal requirements their occupation, as well as identify their role and responsibilities within the industry.

Minimum requirements

  • compare the various jobs in the security industry (e.g. private investigation, security services, loss prevention, and patrol services)
  • the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform well as a security guard
  • describe a security guard’s responsibilities, activities, and demands (e.g. travel, off-hours, stress, risks, dangers, etc.)
  • differentiate between private security and police officers

Note: The learning journal should be introduced here if the trainer intends to use it as a teaching tool throughout the course.
